Missouri Women In Trades

Incorporated in 2008, Missouri Women In Trades (MOWIT) began with a group of tradeswomen and their supporters organizing to provide support to each other and seeking a way to create more opportunity for women in the industry. These tradeswomen enjoy the work but find that support from other women is important to facing the challenges of the industry. They also know that the industry is expecting worker shortages and that many women are seeking good paying careers from which they can support themselves and their families. In September 2006, MOWIT began holding monthly support and networking meetings for tradeswomen and aspiring tradeswomen.
