and school staff performance. |

Construction
of new school building in Shaheed Nagar
Construction on new school building begun on 10th July
2006. The ongoing expansion of the school is to accommodate
a waiting list of 120 children. |

CommunitiWorks Role
Since its inception in 2003, CommunitiWorks has been able to quickly establish itself as a credible organization within India. CW is proud of what it has been able to accomplish in such a short period of time. For instance:
- CommunitiWorks has successfully forged strong relationships with key political and business leaders in the areas where we work.
- CommunitiWorks' efforts to provide a high standard of
pre-school, kinder garden, and primary school education
has helped raise the level within other schools in Shaheed
Nagar and has been recognized by the Indian government.
- CommunitiWorks has effectively reached out, involved, and collaborated with other organizations that share all or some of the concerns surrounding the issues of education and women's development. CW has worked with the following organizations, businesses, and foundations:
- AIGA for education and health initiatives
- ATF for developing micro enterprises for women
- Disaster risk management programs of UNDP (at district
level only for awareness programmers in Shaheed Nagar)
- Local trade unions for bidi workers welfare in amroha
Our ability to make an impact
is proven, but we need to do more. In order for CommunitiWorks
to achieve its overall goal of advancing accomplishment in its
key areas of concern, the following is required:
- CommunitiWorks must engage all members of a community, from business leaders to unemployed, educated youth to women wanting to enhance their skills, in order to achieve sustainable progress.
- CommunitiWorks must continue to build coalitions and collaborations with other organizations and government agencies.
- CommunitiWorks must use a variety of policy entry points to increase the number of voices working towards community development, women's economic and social welfare, quality education and training, and health services for all.
