and school staff performance. |

Construction
of new school building in Shaheed Nagar
Construction on new school building begun on 10th July
2006. The ongoing expansion of the school is to accommodate
a waiting list of 120 children. |

Advocacy Tools
CommunitiWorks helps the women in the SHGs and the parents of the children in the school advocate for improvements to local infrastructure and services. CommunitiWorks also helps mobilize local resources and skills to avoid the expense of importing labor and to develop independence.
So far, we have succeeded in paving the road in front of the school in Shaheed Nagar and cleaning up neighboring buildings. The owner of a field for buffalo cows across from the school also agreed to build a wall around the area.
The community has mobilized its own resources to build an expansion to the school building in Shaheed Nagar. In Amroha, local business leaders have contributed to the financing of the school and provided materials.
